Day 1 & 2 Lost Luggage and Avebury Henges

Day 1 is a mix of Thursday and Friday, cause we started our journey Thursday at 9:20 am leaving the Springfield airport after a lovely send off from some of our Mums (see what I did there...). We made it to Chicago by 10:30 am, that includes taxiing for 20 mins after we landed. Michelle got there 30 mins later from Orlando. Reunited and it feels so good! So we had lunch together then started the long line to get through security. Got to our gate by 2ish and then proceeded to get comfortable until starting to board at 3:50pm.

Having Eowyn with us meant getting comfortable on the floor with toys, crayons and her favorite, Coco. Some of us took a nap, Alicia and Eowyn, can pretty much sleep anywhere, lol.
Blake puts them all to sleep lol

Here's Alicia and Eowyn enjoying the countryside on our drive today, lol.

For the first time ever this flight felt less than 6 hours but I know full well that it was closer to 7 hrs. Once we landed in Dublin we sprinted to our next flight that had propellors instead of jet engine (let that sink in...) For a quick 30 min flight to Bristol, England. Made it by 7:15am (their time 1:15am our time), unfortunately our luggage did not since it wasn't able to sprint with us to that short connecting flight. However this airport not only located it but delivered it to us at one of the houses we're staying at while we're here, Saturday morning while we were at Avebury.

Day 1 is stories of airports, naps and jet lag, but we've all gotten settled at our host family's houses and the newbies on the team, Michelle Alicia and Brooke are loving everything so far!

Saturday, day 2, if you check Michelle's Facebook you'll be up to speed with pictures of not just her meals (lol love you Michelle) but also the different sights of the day. We went Avebury and saw the giant stones similar to Stonehenge but more of them and they're about 6000 years old. The history of this country never ceases to amaze.

In true England fashion we did have some rain showers and cloud cover but the sun did come out to warm us up after. We took a picnic for our lunch and chatted more as team, quickly becoming better friends already. After Avebury, we came home to our luggage (yay!) and got ready for dinner at James and Lesley's house, pork chops, broccoli, carrots, and potatoes were supper followed by a chocolate torte and Peach Sponge (cake) for pudding. Had our nightly cup of tea and bid goodnight till morrow.

The team and one of the many rock.
