Hiya from across the pond!
We started our journey to London Thursday morning at 6 am from Springfield Airport with a quick jaunt to Dallas-Fort Worth to start a 7 hour layover in Cowboy Country. It's fun to see how much airports have turned into malls anymore or just a giant food court depending on which concourse you're in. We did a quick tour of the airport for breakfast and pokemon (thanks to Blake on the latter). Best airport purchase I've ever made so far in all my traveling years are the neck pillows we purchased 2 for $20 and then we promptly passed out at the gate till it was time for lunch. At 3 we started boarding our plane for the 9 hr flight ahead of us, very lovely huge plane with American Airlines, after the door shut the pilot came over the PA and if you were ever concerned about your flight saftey you were completely put to rest after he introduced himself, Captain Kirk had us in his care for this bit of our journey, NO Worries from us!
We got to London Heathrow on Friday at 7:30 am English time, had about 30 mins to wait to get through customs, which is pretty grand actually, and then a quick money exchange from dollars to pounds, nice to have the Queen in my wallet again. Lesley was waiting for us! Found Chris and James at the Carpark. Started our 2 hr drive to our new homes for the next 10 days.
Annette is staying with James and Lesley, like normal, Blake and I our with Chris & Lucy, my british parents, and Bill and Jane are with Richard Smith. I don't know about the other 3, but Blake and I had a nice cup of tea then laid down for a rest.
Pakistan versus England test match highlights is our evening, Chris teaching Blake about it!
Tell you more tomorrow!
