Day 3 : Psalm 22, Bacon Butties, and The Booths

Today was full of lots to do, firstly we went off to church to catch a wonderful worship and Psalmist lesson with Tom Wharin (the minister) plus getting to catch up with all our old friends from years past and for them to get to know Blake (from more than just my facebook pictures) and Bill & Jane. They're learning quickly how silly that Jane is ;).

After church we got right down to tearing down the current set up and putting up everything for Holiday Club. We've got an average of  120 kids that come to the club (Praise the Lord) so we've had to expand the outfit where the older kid group, the blue group, are now in an outside tent instead of trying to share the  hall with the green group. The Red and Yellow group share the sanctuary. Annette is in the Red group (kindergarten) , Blake, Bill, and Jane are in Green (3rd & 4th), and I'm in the Blue (5th & 6th). After we all shared the load of work we got to eat some Bacon Butties!! Bacon on a buttered roll, something we'd eat at home without the butter, but when in Rome, lol....

We all went back to our homes after that to relax, nap, and/or make something for the BBQ later at the Rayfields. I made the fruit salad that I make pretty often at home for potlucks, but I blew the minds of the English when I added not only yogurt to fruit but the audacity to throw in marshmallows as well oh dear... it's a new fan favorite, of course.

Before the BBQ though, our lovely friends Matthew Booth and his fiance' Hayley came down from Birmingham to visit with us for the afternoon. They brought us some souvenirs from Litchfield Cathedral (Andy Black's favorite place), there's no such thing as too many tote bags, just ask Blake! It was fun to take people on a tour of technically their own countryside, we're quite knowledgeable of our little home away from home now.

BBQ was delicious and full of friends, and tons of laughter. Jane taught us all a very silly song about the Holy Spirit and Chickens. Jane is still in awe of the different accents, Simon came in talking about meat and said burger more like "bahger" so she requested him to repeat himself so she can perfect her accent (not getting much better lol) and then Richard quickly corrected her "no Jane it's 'berhger', so now she's just confused, lol.   Bubbles, Burgers, and a bloody nose later we were off back home to finish the evening with a family viewing of Horrible Histories
