Day 8: On your marks...get set...shhh

Where has the week gone?!

It's Friday, and the week has rushed by too quickly. Today was absolute madness with screaming and dancing in our altogether time before we separated into our small groups. The Blue Boxers, were such a calm and quiet lot of kids. I'm really gonna miss them. Please pray for each of the kids we had this week some of them were really connecting to what we were telling them and wanting to know more, but it's hard to get them everything they need in a one week a year. Please pray that the seed we've planted will reap a reward :).

Today we learned about the the farmer scattering the seeds; some fell on the footpath and were eaten by the birds, others fell on the rocky soil, grew but since they had no roots so they died, some fell among the weeds and thorns but were choked out, and the rest fell on the good soil and produced a bigger crop than what had been planted.

Already seeds have been growing roots, we had one kid come up to Angie and say he wants to be Jesus' Friend, Amen! In my group, Luke (one of the sweetest boys you'll ever meet), right after we had finished throwing water balloons at the kids and we're picking up the pieces, that he came up to me and asked "Will you pray for me?" it was very hard to not cry or squeeze him to tight and pray for him right there. I asked if he wanted to pray right now, but he shook his head and just repeated "pray for me" More wonderful stories to come from each of us

I did my last dance as Capt Ketchup, well I did it twice for them since I don't get to come back next year. I'm hanging my cape up for a now, and sending my dear friend Stephanie in my place and she has to do all the same things I do (good luck).

It was a brilliant day, perfect ending to the drama as well. Tom got gunged! The parents came early to watch the closing program, they saw all of us do our songs and actions, and saw how much their kids loved the week. After that, we had a BBQ with all the kids and their parents. It was amazing to walk among everyone and the kids loving on us and just showing Jesus' love in the easiest way through their children and food, (church is all about food).

After that we headed to Gloucester, the Gloucester Cathedral is absolutely beautiful, amazing acoustics (a choir was there singing, plus they have this massive organ), and Harry Potter was filmed in the halls plus a little in the court yard!!!! I took pics, hugged the wall, and Desmond and I found the room of requirement.

Lasagna party at the French's house!! We had many puddings (I made my caramel apple pie), so much fun!! Desmond had 7 servings of lasagna (yes 7, that's not a typo). We shared our stories of the week and jokes from home, best party of the week. We as a whole are very very loud.

Fun Facts: When the church showed everyone pictures of us Americans before we came over, they saw Becka and thought "oh she looks, sweet and quiet" hahahahahaha

Shakespeare coined the phrases "Please do not stand on ceremony" "The Queen's english" "Oh you gotta be cruel to be kind" "Seen better days" "You can't have too much of a good thing"

Donna's favorite phrase "You're on vacation, just eat it" It coaxed us all into giving in to our temptations (Sarah and her sweets. Angie and ice cream. Me and Tea time.)
God Bless,

Scarlett

p.s. Other cultures say "Americans are very loud" I don't agree, lol.
p.p.s. "History is a set of lies agreed upon by a lot of people
