Day 7: Holy Crepe Batman...

Going great here in the UK!

We got two more kids in the Blue group today!! Only one day left and no kids were turned away, Praise Jesus!!

Today they were introduced to the concept of stepping out on faith like Peter did when he wanted to walk on water with Jesus. Peter stepped out of the boat, when Jesus called to him, and walked on  water, it wasn't until he saw the wind that he got scared and started to sink. He called out "Lord, save me!", and Jesus reached out and saved him saying "You of little faith. Why did you doubt?" Stepping out in faith and risking it all is not easy, but with Jesus on our side we can be brave and now He's there to pull us up when we start to fall.

All of us in our groups are really loving it here, and the kids have really warmed up to us. The drama has gone over fantastically well, kids boo, join in on jokes, and laugh where laughter is needed :).

After HC, we went to Newark Park (Hunting Lodge from Tudor Era), it was a grand view, and quaint rooms. They had fun puzzles out of the lodge, I finished one, the other was missing pieces so I took a picture of what I had completed then ran to find my group. We then went to Tetbury, lovely market town. We call it Prince Charles' town since his house is not far off, but also because his charity shop High Grove (original store) is there. We walked about and then had our tea.

Dinner at Marian and Phil Burrows' house. BBQ, so hamburgers and chips, and some spicy/wonderful sides all homegrown and made by Marian. She should enter competitions with her cooking. She made a pudding that defies description. We laughed so hard and really enjoyed each others company, and then Desmond and I found a lost football (soccer) in the back of the garden and started to kick it around. I love our group this year, such a zany bunch.
Fun Facts: Becka is 22 years old and had her very first crepe today while we were in Tetbury. It had vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce.
Sarah is a mad footballer. We were playing football (soccer) after dinner tonight, and Sarah got set to kick it and right as she ran to it she stopped and set herself in a karate stance. Then she stepped back, did the stance again, yelled "Energy", and lobbed it at me, lol. Sarah is our own Power Puff girl of fun.
4 more years and Queen Elizabeth II, will be the longest reigning monarch of England, passing Queen Victoria by a year.

God Bless

Scarlett

p.s. We've all cried from laughing too much this week
p.p.s. It's never too late for pudding

p.p.p.s. When the back of your shirt says Monica, people think that's your name

  1. Wow. I just read through all of your "awesome" incredible blogs. I would love for time to stand still and for me to buzz lightyear into your world and be in England with you. What a great reminder to know that today is the day God has made for us to rejoice and "LIVE" for Him. I plan to be there next year with you.
