Day 1 & 2 England 2012: Yesterday.... all my troubles seemed so far away

Hiya from across the pond!!

We made it to England bright and early at 845 am their time, so 245 am at home!!

Our journey started yesterday at 830 am we all met at the Mac campus to load up our vehicles for the our trip to St Louis and Michael Clair came over to pray with us to send us off right. We were on the road by 9, Kerry Snyder and my dad, Gale, drove us down to Lambert Airport. On the way down we all got to know each other a little bit better.

Team rundown again: Annette Snyder, Angie Snyder, Becka Snyder (yes we've been over run by Snyder's, just kidding girls this trip wouldn't be the same without you) Karen Browning, Sarah Keeney, Desmond Stallworth, Donna Szoke and myself.

Fun facts: This is the farthest that Donna has ever been from her husband, (which is beautiful) also pray for them cause that can be really tough.

This is Sarah's first big out of the country mission trip, (she has a great heart for Jesus and kids) pray that she can rest up today and tomorrow so she's ready for Monday with all those awesome kids

This is the 2nd time Becka has ever been on a plane the first being when she was 12 (she's 22 now) and wouldn't you know it hers is the only luggage to not make it on the plane. No worries we've got it now, it arrived on an earlier flight.

This is Desmond's first time to England, we were sitting in a meeting about Holiday Club today and one of his first statements to me was "When you described this place you left out how awesome it really is..." Sorry Desmond its hard thing to describe the beauty you find not only in the town but in the people as well.

The rest of us, this is our 3rd time coming so we've come home :)

At St Louis our 1:16 flight was delayed till 3:10, which meant right as we would be getting to Newark Airport, NJ, it would be time to board our next flight which was set to take off at 7:00, so our fearless leader, Annette got us all some dunkin donuts while trying find a solution. The airlines got us on a later flight at 9:10 but that meant instead of landing in Birmingham, we would be landing in London at Heathrow. God is so good, the pilot caught a jet stream and which made it an hour less flight time, and to our magically awesome surprise there were no queues, lines, at customs, so we breezed thru (shhhh we're on vacation).

After having a money exchange ordeal, we finally made it down to baggage claim, (see Becka's fun fact). Lesley, James, Tristan, and Chris (my English dad for the week) met us at the airport to bring us home to Wotton. It's amazing discovering how much you've missed a place and the people there until you see them again for the first time after a year.

Everyone got to their English homes for the week, took their naps (only one you're getting Becka), had our afternoon tea, meet & great w/ our fellow Holiday Clubbers to prepare for the week.

After a Yummy meal, we're ready for a good night's sleep. (this bit from Annette as well as some other details)

My meal is being cooked right now by Chris, Chicken w/ tarragon sauce, it's smell delicious. Thanks so much for reading, for your prayers, support and stayed tuned the awesome is just beginning.

God Bless
Scarlett

p.s. we Americans say the word "awesome" a lot

p.p.s. James Chase, (who Angie, Annette, & Becka stayed with) was serving everyone's dinner that night. After putting meat on everyone's plate he realized he forgot to leave some for himself.
