Sunday.....
Church is at 1030 so I didn't have an early morning I woke up at about 9 and Chris poked in to say at 930 "its really time to be up now Scarlett" I came down had some cereal and an apple with Chris as my breakfast pal. I then got online to blog day 2 and 3 since I very rudely couldn't do those earlier. Then once Lucy came down I ran up to grab shoes, sweater, and backpack to walk to the church. We arrived a few minutes late and they only really noticed cause I was one of the Americans making noise I walked to my seat.
It was a wonderful message on the book of Esther and its Villain, Haman. Esther as most of you is my favorite book of the Bible, its also the name of my car, my favorite verse is even my license plate, Esther 4:14. So I was very pumped for this message I've never heard just on Haman before, it was really quite good, well done Tom (the minister). He brought up Independence Day as a reference of ambiguous villains and said "That movie Independence with Will Smith, Bill Pullman as the president, and that other guy...." four pews away, I couldn't help myself I literally had no control of my mouth, I shouted out "Jeff Goldblum!" "Ahh yes Jeff Goldblum, Thank you Scarlett" Yes, I would be more embarrassed if I actually could get embarrassed, and Chris sitting next to me laughed and at dinner later we replayed the situation and he said he could physically see how I couldn't help and it just came out.
Anyways after church, we had tea & biscuits and some meet/greet time or played catch up with those people I was close to the last time I was here. Then we got right down to setting up the church for Holiday Club, by putting chairs away, separating the different kid groups by colors and netted forts/dens. The theme this year is Mission Rescue: Moses' story, so we're all spy names. I'm in the Green group, the Green Seekers, Debbie is with me, we have Year 3 & 4. Golden Spies, Angie and Liz are in that group, that is Year 1 & 2. Blue Blunders is Year 5 & 6, no Americans in that group. Then Red (I don't remember), Annette and Suzy in that one and that is Reception age so Kindergarten. We decorated, moved, shoved, found space, chatted, after we worked a bit we all deserved Bacon Buddies, which is a bacon sandwich on a roll, I put ketchup on mine. After we were all set up, those of us in the Drama practised tomorrow skit and then I walked back to Chris and Lucy's.
Back at the house I finished Day 3's blog, Looked at the pudding Lucy was making for dessert then went a drive with Chris to work up an appetite. Chris made Spaghetti Balinese, (wonderful) I grated carrots for it, it needed a pinch of salt, and a bit more sauce, shhh don't tell him I said so ;) only kidding it was perfect and those were his comments not mine. Lucy's Eve's Pudding wasn't cooked thru yet so we had berries and custard than Chris and I went off to watch Cricket Highlights so he could teach me the game. I'm not a pro at it but I do understand it better now to where when he quizzes me tomorrow I'll at least know the answer but probably couldn't explain to another American. We had the Eve's Pudding while finishing up Cricket.
Tomorrow if there's still time I'm teaching him Baseball
