Day 1: It's a good thing I packed extra shirts

So..... As we met at the church this morning I was at my usual pace of 5 mins behind, but even that could not deter me from a happy great morning. After a last minute stop at my grandmas to pick up 3 more pieces of clothing, my mom and I headed to SouthSide to meet up with the rest of the crew. After I had my awesome moment of trying to re-close my suitcase in the parking lot we then convened in the lobby of the church with John Wentz, our minister, and family to pray for our trip.

John, went into how his morning started, including his van dying the one time he decides to park in the garage, and just wanted to remind us not to get disheartened by the enemy before we got there and why we're there. Satan is constantly trying to bring us down so remember to keep your spirits up walk out in faith and God will/is providing.

Then we get to the airport this afternoon, and they have moved our flight up, we have a minute to check our baggage and we may or may not make onto this flight. All our anxiety levels hit the roof myself included and I just kept thinking, its gonna be ok I just prayed about this at lunch we're gonna make it. The minutes kept ticking by and we still weren't thru security no boarding passes printed, my heart raising in throat. When the lady on the phone at the help desk was finally able to print the passes, we ran thru security (thank goodness bloomington is a small airport) lady at gate gave us a tongue lashing, and people on plane stare with disgust, anger, bemusement, and confusion. Once we got in our seats I announced to those around us that we're sorry and also said to my friends "its cool we made it, I prayed at lunch we're taken care of". Shortest flight I've ever had in my life btw, 45 mins.

Now I'm sitting in an online cafe in Detroit where we had to buy an entree for an hr of free Internet, $8, needless to say after all the running and sad air conditioning situation in our flight, I'm so happy I packed a shirt in my carry-on.

Thanks so much for reading stay tuned for more England fun and God working in mysterious awesome ways.
